Ok, so I might have jinxed myself when I said I have plenty of time to start a blog... I was so proud of myself last week when I completed all my Q2 lesson plans and final exams, then this week there was a change of plans and I got 3 more classes added to my schedule. THREE! That is another 6 hours of teaching time and I no longer have any free time during the day and am EXHAUSTED after work. Needless to say nothing exciting has happened in the last week and I have been slammed at work.
Things are changing a lot for us this upcoming week. We just sent off our volunteer girls from summer semester and won't be getting new ones until next weekend, which means we will be teaching the kindergarten building this week too! And by kindergarten I mean classes with 20, 2-5 year old children that I don't know the names of and will probably push my teaching skills over the limit! On top of that we have a HUGE inspection at the school so everyone is working extra hard to impress the "big guys." I didn't think it would effect me so much but I am actually stressed and don't want to look like the amateur that I am, so I'm actually making lesson plans this week. HA!
I keep referring to we and realized you might have no idea who "we" means. So I should probably tell you about my sidekick Kayla. She is the other paid teacher here in Phichit and is the ONLY person that understands all my struggles. I don't think I would be surviving without her here to experience all this first time teaching stuff with. She is a super fun girl! To be honest I was way nervous we weren't going to get along and it was going to be an extremely long, boring year. She has proved me wrong tho! We got along right away and spend all our extra time together. Thankfully she likes me too or I'd be one miserable human. I mean that tho cause like she lets me have sleepovers every time my air con breaks, which has been just about every other day for the last four weeks. Take a second and imagine sleeping in a 90 degree hot box with no air flow... TORTURE! If it wasn't for Kayla being such a kind soul I would probably have been dead by now.
Yes, I know, I'm dramatic! That's just one part of me that I find fun and others find annoying. Lets just say at least I am only dramatic about situations that involve me wishing I was dead rather than being dramatic about the other 900 million things people tend to be dramatic about. You win some, you lose some.
Anyway back to my story of the insanely busy weeks I've been having. I honestly find my crazy job to go by much quicker when I am teaching start to finish. I also don't mind working after hours to catch up on stuff before the next day begins, just means less time for me to do what I like during the week, but I guess that's what weekends are for. It feels more like home when I am constantly busy, being the nonstop worker bee I am back in America it's nice not to just lay around all evening staring at my phone.
Hopefully I can find some time to start writing again cause even tho these are super short posts I find myself enjoying my time doing this. I like to tell myself you guys enjoy reading it too so I'll try to get some more adventures uploaded soon.
Below are a few cute pics of my babies and some goodbye pics of us and the girls. I wish I had a pic of my desk this week cause that was something else, but I at least managed to get pics of the plants we did in science.
